I’m just a small-town girl, livin’ in an ever-changing world. I took the midnight train to a lifelong love of all things Gen X, and I have an endless curiosity for culture, how it changes, and how it has changed us throughout the decades. Whether it is diving into communication styles, trends, social structures, societal issues, technology, or music (oh, yes, the music!), my love for the 80s goes beyond just nostalgia. I’m interested in what made Gen X (aka, “The Slackers,” “The Forgotten Generation,” “The Latchkey Kids”) into the resilient, self-starters we’ve become today….
Writing takes me back to a time in space when we weren’t on the fast track–when life was less complicated. When I write about those days, a lesson always surfaces that makes me look at my life with a new perspective now. This book has been such a rewarding journey and I hope it will change others lives for the better as it has mine.
